SYNCHRONOUS Energy Generation

Synchronous Compensator – A key part of the renewable energy futures

Synchronous Renewable ENERGY Generation

Solutions for Grid stability. A Secure Sustainable Electricity System

Green synchronous power generation - DABITRON promote the local installation of synchronous power generating technology that utilises renewable energy sources, as solar PV power, synchronous compensator, battery tech and hydrogen power to stabilise local electrical grid. Innovative technical solutions able to enhance voltage control capacity and support grid stability and security to enable the increasing integration renewable sources.
Synchronous Compensators

Synchronous Compensators for increased network stability.

  • What is a Synchronous Compensator?

Synchronous compensators (sometimes called synchronous condensers or synchronous capacitors) provide stability and voltage support to the electricity network, especially when system faults occur within the power grid.

Synchronous Compensators are electrical devices that are used to manage the stability of the national grid including the relationship between voltage and current and the resilience of the system to sudden faults. Though a Synchronous Compensator does not generate electricity, it is essentially a large electric motor that is connected in a particular manner to allow it to act as a support to the system when required.

This allows the system operator, to manage the transmission system safely and securely with a reduced dispatch. As a result, this enables reduced carbon impact of transmission operations and reduced constraint costs.

  • Where is Synchronous Compensator Used?

It is used within power transmission systems for regulating line voltage, in HVDC, wind/solar, grid support, regulation, power factor correction, and VAR compensator.

High penetrations of non-synchronous renewable energy generation can decrease overall grid stability because these units do not provide rotational inertia in the same way as traditional synchronously-connected generators.

The intermittence of the renewable sources affects electric supply in terms of stability, voltage quality, reactive power and power factor control, fault-ride-through capability, inertia and short circuit power. Synchronous Condensers can compensate for these drawbacks, and are therefore an irreplaceable element for grid stabilization, both for the transition phase – and beyond. Synchronous Condenser strengthen the grid, particularly when installed in nodes where renewable energy sources are connected. In addition, these installations improve grid security in case of faults.

DABITRON provide turnkey solutions to help utility companies enhance grid stability, reliability and dynamic reactive power compensation. Each synchronous compensator project is customised to a utility’s specific needs.

The DABITRON's synchronous renewable energy generation projects includes the installation of synchronous power generating technology that utilises 100% local renewable energy sources, to enhance grid flexibility and security and facilitate the integration of renewables. In addition, the projects that contribute to the local socio-economic development of their chosen area.

THE Synchronous RENEWABLE ENERGY generation OF DABITRON

DABITRON’s innovative hybrid renewable energy solutions support and accelerate this transition towards a clean energy future and improve grid-stability. Synchronous condenser (SC) technology and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) complement each other in a hybrid configuration and offers clear benefits in providing grid-supporting functions.

Role of green synchronous power generation in our projects is to improving the power quality issues in our hybrid renewable power plants connected to a power grid. The proposed solutions allow optimizing the dispatch of conventional plants and the reduction of non-synchronous generation, as well as exploring methods to reduce generation costs.
